Due to increased workload, Pardoo Station is seeking Station Hands, both experienced and first year, with an immediate start available.
Under new General Managers, who have been in the industry for 30+ years, Pardoo is transforming not only the industry but also itself. We have several exciting full-time, permanent positions to join the team as Station Hands. Experience will be highly regarded, however it isn’t essential. Working within a small, friendly but professional close-knit team, we are seeking reliable, enthusiastic and motivated individuals. Horseriding experience is not essential, but a willingness to learn is, an understanding of, or experience in, handling cattle is important, but you can learn this if you are new to the field. The successful candidate will be eager to learn as well as being passionate about the agriculture industry.
Single accommodation and excellent home cooked meals are provided, with a location that is hard to rival. Located close to Eighty Mile Beach and only a couple of hours from Port Hedland, you can choose to spend your down time at the beach where you can also fish, in town, or relaxing by the pool at the Company’s Tourist Park a short drive away.
Here’s some of what you will be doing:-
- Cattle mustering, using motorbikes and horses, cattle and horse husbandry and welfare,
- Low Stock Stress handling,
- Using welders and other workshop tools,
- Operating various types of machinery to carry out tasks such as feeding hay
- Assisting with bore pumps and water troughs,
- Property and Vehicle Maintenance including fencing, motor vehicles including motorbikes.
Our ideal new team member will have:-
- Good communication (both written and verbal) skills with the capacity to maintain a co-operative work ethic,
- Ability to adopt safe working practices,
- Ability to ride a horse and handle cattle desired, or a willingness to learn,
- Good initiative, ability to follow instructions and be a great team member,
- A willingness to learn all aspects of the role or to enhance skills already held,
- A current drivers licence.
