Job description

We seek applications from suitably experienced people seeking a rewarding, long-term position with one of Australia's leading cattle producers.

The Property & Employer:
Our clients are a long-established and successful Australian family-owned and operated agribusiness that has built an impressive, world-class, vertically integrated beef production system. The company's four Central and Northern Queensland stations house the extensive breeding, backgrounding, and feedlot operations with an export-accredited abattoir alongside the feedlot, marketing high-quality beef around the globe.
There is an exciting and unique opportunity for the Station Manager of the prized 140,000-hectare breeding property in the Charters Towers region of Nth Qld. This extensively developed property is the core breeding operation for the entire business, focussing on producing high-quality, productive, and quiet cattle for the growing and fattening properties. A generous capital improvement program has been undertaken on the property, including a reticulated stock watering system, numerous yards, laneways, and modern internal fencing.
The herd is managed under a modern rotational grazing plan to maximise production while minimising impact on the land. The company strongly focuses on looking after its animals, land, and people utilising a mix of traditional knowledge, values, and cutting-edge management. The business continues looking at new and innovative methods to complement and increase current production systems and grow and improve into the future.

The Role:
We seek applications from suitably experienced people seeking a rewarding, long-term position with one of Australia’s leading cattle producers. The Station Manager will report directly to the GM to develop and deliver the livestock program. You will be able to keep accurate records and understand the necessity of working effectively with various team members from the business’s main office. • Assist with the development and management of annual capital improvement programs.
  • Manage staff; our clients focus on building skilled young people across the beef supply chain.
  • Maintaining the station to a tidy, aesthetic standard
  • Ensure compliance with quality assurance, WHS, company systems, and legislative obligations.
  • Working with the group to ensure efficient utilisation of resources and cohesive planning.
The successful applicant will.
  • Have previous leadership experience with an ability to grow quality young people in their roles to work alongside you.
  • You must have very strong stockmanship and horsemanship skills promoting quiet and confident cattle.
  • Have experience managing budgets and communicating across various levels of an organisation.
  • A down-to-earth personality, a hands-on operator with solid communication skills who sees their role as one of the team and who leads by example.
  • A strong interest in beef production, the group's goals, and product quality.
  • Mechanical / machinery knowledge is of advantage.
The Offer:
A highly competitive salary package commensurate with experience and an established performance bonus system is available. A comfortable homestead in a large, attractive garden alongside a natural lagoon is offered.
