The Western Australian Office of Crime Statistics and Research (WACSAR) is seeking a dynamic Statistical Analyst to join our dedicated team. ABOUT THE ROLE
WACSAR is a newly established office within the Department of Justice, which undertakes and supports independent research and analysis into crime and criminal justice issues in Western Australia. WACSAR is responsible for interpreting, understanding and critically evaluating current and emerging issues in order to inform policy development and government decision making. The Office is also responsible for evaluating the implementation and effectiveness of key initiatives across the Department, to ensure they are achieving their intended outcomes.
The position undertakes the development and application of statistical methods to extract, analyse and summarise criminal justice data for use by the WACSAR Evaluation and Research team to review, evaluate and monitor criminal justice policies, programs and projects.
To do this you will work with project stakeholders to develop the quantitative elements of the evaluation and monitoring frameworks by extracting and analysing data from WACSAR's reporting systems, using contemporary analytical packages, including the R statistical computing package.

- Have experience in applying statistical modelling to the analysis of complex data
