We are seeking for a full time Statistician (Data Consultant) to join our team in our Martin Place Sydney office.
About the role
Experienced Data Consultant proficient in Mathematics and Applied Statistics, skilled in data manipulation, exploratory analysis, and creating interactive data visualizations. Capable of understanding business needs, offering recommendations, and delivering proactive solutions.
Key responsibilities
Developing data collection techniques, which involve surveys, observations, and existing business databases, by using tools like Snowflake, Google Big Query, Oracle.
Determining the scope for the data to be collected or surveyed.
Extracting data using SQL or python language, cleaning and validating the collected data to check the reliability of the data and defining the methodology to be used in collection and analysis.
Applying statistical techniques to analyse data and draw meaningful conclusions by way of visualisation, reports, charts, diagrams, and presentations.
Analysing the data to find trends and relationships, present these findings comprehensively, and communicate them effectively using visualisation tools like PowerBI and Oracle Analytics Cloud.
Developing statistical models to predict trends, patterns, and outcomes.
Ensuring the accuracy of data collected and addressing errors or inconsistencies in data.
Conducting data exploration to guide further analysis and outline recommended approaches that contribute to strategic decision making.
Understanding the needs and translating them into statistical questions and analyses.
Facilitating effective communication of insights to non-technical stakeholders and the successful implementation of analytical insights.
Essential requirements
Bachelor's degree in Advanced Science with a specialization in Mathematics
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar role

Proficiency in database management systems including SQL and Google BigQuery.
Experience with data transformation tools like DBT and Fivetran, streamlining data processes.
Advanced programming skills in Python, enabling efficient data analysis and manipulation.
Expertise in LaTeX and Overleaf for creating professional-grade documents and reports.
Familiarity with MATLAB for mathematical modelling and analysis.
Proficient in Microsoft applications, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.
