They are currently seeking 3 x experienced Steel fixers for their organisation based in Batemans Bay Area. Immediate start for the right candidate.
This opportunity will be ideal for individuals who thrive working in a FIFO role, whilst earning living away allowances.
As the successful candidate you will need to be level headed and thrive in a busy and changing environment where you will be challenged operationally and need to be physically fit to meet the physical demands of the role on a daily basis.
Experience and skills
- Previous experience as a Steel Fixer
- Can demonstrate the ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
- Experienced in producing work to the correct measurements and tolerances
- Effectively work with other trades and labour to meet deadlines
- Prepare and layout the materials for the construction of steel structures in line with the plans and specifications
- Cut, saw, and bend steel bars as per specifications
- Assemble steel bars or steel mesh by welding wiring or clipping into predetermined locations
- Fabricate steel reinforcement including beams and footing pads
- Hoist steel bars, steel mesh and reinforcements into place
- Connect columns, beams, footings and girders
- Join prefabricated units together for large sections and position the reinforcement ready for concrete pours
- Position and fix reinforcements ready for concrete pour
- Where required to assist, prepare the concrete, mixing sand, cement, and water, assisting with the pour where required
