  • Lead and support the College to achieve the highest quality safety and compliance standards
  • Based primarily at the City Campus, but will be required to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University.

About the Role

This newly created role provides the right candidate with a fantastic opportunity to lead the STEM College's Compliance and Risk Portfolio. This is a significant leadership role that supports the College to achieve the highest quality safety and compliance standards and practices.

The STEM College occupies 600 laboratories and facilities across the breadth of STEM disciplines, and your expertise will guide the safe work practices and ensure ongoing safe and compliant operations.

This is a great opportunity to apply your expertise and leadership to create a positive and effective culture of compliance at RMIT STEM College.

About You

To be successful for this position, you will have:

  • A passion for safety and compliance
  • Proven experience in leading and supporting teams to consider and apply safe and compliant work practices
  • Sound knowledge of the regulatory requirements and accreditation standards applied in STEM-focused teaching and research activities and facilities
  • A positive approach to stakeholder engagement and implementing change
  • Ability to foster a culture that values and acknowledges the strengths and contributions of staff, and inspire and enable others to achieve their full potential
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; higher degree preferred.

Certification in quality management or compliance (e.g., Six Sigma, ISO) is desirable.

Note: Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children Check and National Police Check and other checks as required by the specific role. Maintaining a valid Working With Children Check is a condition of employment at RMIT.
