STEM Teacher (Prep - Year 10)
Four-day position *Option to add fifth day with teaching duties to be determined.
Starting date - Term 3 - 8 July 2024 *Induction days to be determined.

We are seeking a motivated teacher with skills and knowledge in the areas of Science, Technologies, Engineering and Mathematics to design an exciting STEM program to deliver the Australian Curriculum to our Prep to Year 10 students.
The successful applicant will have proven skills in developing and delivering dynamic and engaging STEM and/or Digital Technologies programs that promote critical and creative thinking, and problem-solving. Knowledge of robotics, coding and 3D printing would be advantageous.
As a STEM Teacher at The Sycamore School you will:
- Develop and deliver STEM programs for young people that enhance their educational goals, curriculum access, learning engagement, social participation, and classroom management.
- Plan, prepare and deliver coherent, well-sequenced, and effective STEM education utilising innovative teaching methods and hands-on activities to foster student engagement and understanding.
- Embed the Australian Curriculum in line with Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority’s (ACARA) requirements in all curriculum planning, assessment, and reporting.
- Incorporate technology tools and resources into STEM lessons to enhance learning experiences and develop students' digital literacy skills.
- Participate in the collaborative development and evaluation of the curriculum and regularly monitor, through observation and evaluation, the effectiveness of the teaching program.
- Apply knowledge and understanding of effective teaching strategies tailored to the unique learning profiles of autistic students.
- Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learning needs, ensuring all students have the opportunity to succeed.
- Use effective teaching strategies to integrate ICT into learning and teaching programs to make selected content relevant and meaningful.
- Design and provide opportunities for young people to develop understanding of and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures, and languages.
- Report clearly, accurately, and respectfully to young people, parents/carers and other stakeholders about achievement, making use of accurate and reliable records.
To be considered for the role you must:
- Have a bachelors' degree in education or equivalent qualifications.
- Be registered with Queensland College of Teachers.
- Have the right to live and work in Australia.
