About the Role
The Department for Education, Music Education Strategy, supports the delivery of high-quality classroom and instrumental music learning opportunities for children and young people, through a range of initiatives that enhance Music Education experiences from preschool to tertiary. Implementation of Music Education Strategy is being led by Curriculum Programs, Curriculum and Learning.
Music Education Coaches will promote the vision and goals of Music Education Strategy and assist in its implementation in sites by:
- working as a mentor/coach across a number of sites to strengthen and support quality classroom music by delivering high-quality professional learning opportunities.
- modelling and promoting high quality Music Education practices with teachers.
- providing expert advice in the development of tailored and targeted curriculum resources, and other initiatives identified within Music Education Strategy.
- supporting teachers in the use of quality Music Education resources within their teaching program.
- assisting the team to collect and evaluate data to track and monitor impact.
Qualifications
Essential: Current full teacher registration or able to be registered to teach in South Australia.
Special Conditions
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

Remuneration
STL1: $126,866 per annum plus superannuation.
