About the Role:
We have multiple opportunities available for experienced and communicative individuals to join our dedicated team as an Inclusive Educator. The role provides proactive, targeted, and intensive services to preschools and schools to support children and young people with additional needs, including disability, sensory impairment, and complex health needs.
Key responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Collaborate with educators and site leaders to support the development, implementation, and review of adjustments for children and young people with additional needs, ensuring inclusive access and participation.
  • Apply specialist knowledge and professional judgment to select and implement evidence-based proactive, targeted, and intensive interventions within an educational context.
  • Work collaboratively with school and preschool staff, psychologists, and parents/carers to explore suitability and eligibility for special options placements, facilitating smooth transitions.
  • Provide expert direct and consultative services at various levels, including supporting sites in developing personalized learning plans, adjustments, accommodations, curriculum modifications, reports, and recommendations.
  • Ensure culturally inclusive environments, with a focus on improving outcomes for Aboriginal children with additional needs, by incorporating Aboriginal cultural perspectives into everyday practice.
  • Administer ASQ screeners, monitor responses to interventions, and use information to inform decision-making regarding suitability and eligibility for special options.
  • Offer in-depth consultation to support effective differentiated teaching practices, modeling evidence-informed differentiation, and inclusive practices within an educational context.
Qualifications:
  • Essential a current full teacher registration
  • Desirable a tertiary qualification in special/inclusive education
Special Conditions:
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

Remuneration:
STL2 $126,217 per annum (1.0 FTE), plus superannuation.
