Beefcorp Australia is a family owned vertically integrated Wagyu beef company established for over 30 years.
This is an exciting opportunity for a competent and reliable stockperson to join our team operating a new “state of the art” 8,000hd feedlot.
We are seeking someone who will embrace our company culture of teamwork, care for our people, cattle and farms in producing our premium branded Wagyu beef .
Job tasks and responsibilities
The role requires cattle husbandry including induction, scanning, weighing, drafting, and administering animal health products. Pen walking in the feedlot to identify cattle requiring treatment. Movement and checking cattle in the grazing operation.
Use of StockaID to record cattle operations and create reports.
Ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare is maintained and cattle are managed with low stress handling.
Ensuring livestock operations are compliant with NFAS and LPA.
General farm duties including cleaning water troughs and cattle handling facilities, maintaining electric fences and water infrastructure, and general farm maintenance.
As we have a flexible workforce, the ability to use tractors, front end loaders, telehandlers, bob cats and other farm machinery is an advantage as well as the use of workshop equipment.
Skills and experience
Experienced with cattle in feedlots or dairies and on farms.
Competent computer skills.
Team player and co-operatively work with other staff members.
A flexible attitude and willingness to learn.
A strong work ethic and keenness to get the job done.
Attention to detail and a quality focus.
Able to follow procedures and direction.
Neat & tidy, work in a safe manner and care for equipment.
