Position Summary: The Store Person plays a crucial role in our operations by assisting the Stores Supervisor in coordinating stock, equipment, deliveries, and outgoing goods. With a focus on safety and efficiency, the Store Person ensures that all tasks are completed to a high standard while adhering to company policies and procedures.
Personal Requirements:
Experience/Knowledge:
- Relevant experience with company procedures and standards.
- Previous industry experience in a stores environment.
- Sound knowledge of hand-powered equipment.
- Forklift Ticket.

Primary Duties:
- Follow all Austin Engineering Ltd Policies and Procedures, including Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Policy, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Policy, and Environmental Policy.
- Take responsibility for maintaining all equipment used and optimize plant locations for maximum efficiency.
- Monitor supplier delivery and supply performance.
- Issue stock against job requests and ensure inventory control to prevent obsolescence.
- Ensure proper storage of sensitive consumable items to prevent deterioration.
- Maintain adherence to company engineering standards on all workshop items.
- Follow instructions from the Stores Supervisor to ensure tasks are completed on time and to a high quality.
- Pack and dispatch products as per instruction.
- Monitor tool dispatch and return, reporting any missing or damaged tools.
- Actively model company policies and practices as directed.
- Utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Participate in monthly workshop safety meetings to address safety, productivity, and grievances.
- Foster a team environment among fellow employees.
- Accurately record work hours and complete daily time sheets in a timely manner.
- Promote all aspects of Austin Engineering to enhance the company's reputation and success.
- Perform regular work area inspections and participate in job hazard analyses (JHA’s) to minimize risks.
