The Role:
Based in our facility at Edinburgh, this position will be suited to an organised individual who is familiar with welding and metal fabrication. At the heart of the action, our stores area houses all consumables needed to keep production going and works in conjunction with our structural and pressure vessel fabrication workshop, sheetmetal production workshops, HDPE workshop and freight areas. A demanding role which will require the storeperson to be across everything coming in or going out of stores and ordering stock when required to maintain stock levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receiving incoming goods, checking for damage or discrepancies between goods, delivery notes and invoices.
- Unloading vehicles, opening packages and removing contents.
- Storing goods, ensuring all storage areas are well labelled and each item is in an appropriate storage location.
- Delivering goods to required locations, both within the business, as well as at times externally
- Using materials handling equipment, such as forklifts, overhead cranes, combi-lifts, hydraulic pallet lifters, hand trucks to lift/move goods.
- Stocktake when required.
Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience in a similar position.
- Great time management skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office.
- Boilermaking or welding experience or knowledge preferred.
- Must have car drivers’ licence and forklift licence.
- HR/MR licence is an advantage.
