Storesperson - Mining Sector

A Storeperson with solid experience in dispatch is required by Piacentini & Son at our Workshop based in Picton, Western Australia. 

Piacentini & Son is an earthmoving and mining contractor specialising in bulk earthworks, supply of mobile mining and earthmoving equipment, road haulage and heavy transportation, and rehabilitation services.

An exciting position has become available for an experienced Storeperson to deliver a varied and responsible role. You will manage deliveries and dispatch as well as the safe loading of stores and necessary administration such as purchasing and stock-take. Training can be provided. 

Reporting to the Stores Supervisor, the Storeperson is responsible for organising pick-ups and deliveries, whilst working collaboratively with the other Stores personnel in ensuring parts and accessories are delivered to our mine sites promptly and efficiently.

Responsibilities will include:

• Receiving and dispatching parts.
• Safe forklift operation and safe manual handling practices during all duties.
• Loading and unloading trucks and vehicles.
• Maintaining cleanliness of the store.
• Conducting stock-takes and audits as required.
• Working collaboratively with other team members within the Stores and Maintenance Departments.
• Safe driving of the Stores Truck to collect and deliver small parts and equipment.

Skills and Experience required:

• Valid Worksafe Forklift Licence.
• Extensive experience within a warehouse stores role.
• Experience arranging transport/delivery of the goods.
• The ability to work autonomously.
• Strong organizational skills.

Desirable experience

• Knowledge and experience in mining and earthmoving parts highly beneficial.
• Previously truck driving experience and HR Licence
• Load Restraint Course (Desirable)
• Dogging Ticket (Desirable)

Conditions of Employment:

• Monday – Friday, 7am - 5pm, with some Saturdays.
• Permanent, full-time employment opportunity.
