As an APS 6 in Guided Weapons & Explosive Ordnance (GWEO) Group, you will be given the unique opportunity to work within a diverse team to deliver Australian Defence Force systems that are at the leading edge of Defence Capability.
As an APS 6 Strategic & International Policy Officer, working in Guided Weapons & Explosive Ordnance (GWEO) Group in the Department of Defence, you will be working on establishing the first Australian complex guided weapons industrial base, one of the top priorities outlined by the Defence Strategic Review.
You will spend your days:
- Driving the strategic and international agenda for the GWEO Group.
- Developing and implementing critical policy to support the establishment of the GWEO Enterprise.
- Planning, preparing and delivering high-level activities in support of Ministerial and cabinet level submissions, correspondences and briefs.
- Establishing enduring relationships with internal and external stakeholders / negotiating with internal and external stakeholders to achieve agreed outcomes.
Your responsibilities will require you to apply your policy and engagement skills and experience across a diverse range of activities in support of the acquisition and sustainment of Defence capability.
Your ability to engage with others and provide relevant advice will be key to allowing you to deliver outcomes.
There may be some domestic and international travel associated with this position.
