Quick overview of the role The Strategic Procurement Manager oversees assigned procurement activities within the organisation, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services.
The role's responsibilities require demonstrated experience across a range of procurement functions, from tender development to contract management support.
What will you be doing?
- Develop and implement procurement strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure efficient and cost-effective procurement processes in accordance with governance frameworks.
- Monitor suppliers’ performance, keeping risk management controls, to ensure quality, costs, and delivery effectiveness.
- Drive activities to achieve better cost-effective solutions for NS in Accessories, Hardware, Tools, Office Materials, PPEs, and Consumables.
- Monitor the market and manage the product range life cycle. (Manage implementation and deletion of vendor products from the NS range).
- Conduct research and stay updated with technology and industry trends, new products and services and innovative procurement practices.
- Support and upskill business functions in the procurement lifecycle by providing specialist procurement insights and negotiating skills.
- Manage the development and implementation of the business procurement strategies, e.g; importing, lease vs buys, centralise vs de-centralise.
- Development of relationships with key suppliers to allow for multi-option procurement options wherever possible.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management or related field.
- Procurement experience, ideally in reinforcing steel and injection moulding.
- Proven experience as a Procurement Manager or similar role, with strong knowledge of procurement principles, practices, regulations and procurement software.
- Excellent negotiation, contract management and vendor relationship skills.
- Experience in facilities improvement management, including project planning, budgeting, and execution. (Project Management skills)
- Exceptional analytical skills and the ability to work with complex financial data.
- Strong organisational and time management skills with an ability to prioritise and manage workload, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing circumstances.
