At QBE, our purpose is to enable a more resilient future.

We’re an international insurer and reinsurer with a local presence in 27 countries.

Leveraging our deep expertise and insights, QBE offers commercial, personal and specialty products and risk management solutions to help people and businesses manage risks, build strength and embrace change to their advantage.

We’ve been cultivating resilience since 1886, when our founders started a marine insurance company in Townsville, Australia to give early pioneers a safeguard against uncertainty.

Today, we employ more than 11,600 people around the world, and our product portfolio includes property, motor, crop, energy, marine and aviation insurance.

The opportunity

QBE Insurance is currently undergoing a significant period of change and transformation, with a strong emphasis on planning for the future. As such, we are seeking an experienced Strategic Workforce Planning Manager to join the organisation and lead strategic workforce and capacity planning across Australia.

To enable informed, strategic business resource decision making, your role will involve:

Facilitating the strategic workforce planning process using the QBE framework to enable leaders to make choices about priorities and to optimize their workforce.

Providing workforce analytics and reporting to improve performance, address workforce challenges, facilitate staff mobility and support business decision making

Collaboration with stakeholders and functional Workforce Planning Managers across the business to understand current and future workforce demands to enable scenario planning.

Defining the skillsets and capabilities required for the organisation to remain future-fit

Translating complex workforce data into actionable insights and initiatives that create an understanding of how they create value.

Your story so far

To deliver on our vision and goals, you’ll demonstrate extensive strategic workforce planning experience gained from partnering with broad and complex organisations. You are comfortable operating within an environment of change and transformation, identifying resourcing needs and skillset requirements, and delivering a plan to address this.

You have strong partnership skills and can collaborate closely with business leaders to understand their objectives and demonstrate how, with the right strategic workforce plan, they can achieve and deliver on this. Your eye for data and analytics allows you to provide well-informed recommendations which are both pragmatic, yet also innovative and future-fit.
