- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients admitted to the Renal Ward, including reviewing medical history, performing physical examinations, and assessing renal function.
- Administer medications as prescribed by the nephrologist, including erythropoietin-stimulating agents, phosphate binders, and intravenous iron supplements.
- Monitor and manage patients receiving hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, or continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), ensuring accurate treatment delivery and patient safety.
- Assess and monitor vascular access sites for patients undergoing hemodialysis, including arteriovenous fistulas, grafts, and central venous catheters.
- Perform cannulation of vascular access sites as needed, ensuring proper technique, and minimizing the risk of complications.
- Bachelor of Nursing qualification (or equivalent) and current AHPRA registration
- Minimum of 2 years working in remote or rural healthcare settings
- 2 years experience as a Renal ward Nurse with acute experience
- Evidence of prior service
- Specific qualifications or Training for specialty area
- National police certificate
- A valid and up to date Ochre Card
- Up to date vaccinations
