About the Role
We invite and welcome applications for Strength and Conditioning Coaches to join our Sports, Aquatics and Performing Arts teams. Working across all campuses, these are casual positions working to promote fitness and well-being across our School community.
The Strength and Conditioning Coach is responsible for the continued high-level development of students while maintaining a thorough commitment to fullness of life at the School. The Strength and Conditioning Coach’s role is to deliver and manage both team and individual based programs for students, overseeing training loads and providing support for our sport and swimming programs.
Your Everyday
Working closing with the Head of Ivanhoe Edge, and the Head of Strength and Conditioning you will:
- Supervise the safe operation of the weights room Monday-Friday as per designated hours of work
- conduct weekly training sessions as per the coaching program
- implement up to date training and coaching strategies in line with LTAD programs in schools
- create and maintain a supportive and motivating environment
- provide regular constructive informal feedback to students on their progress
- develop a rapport with, and demonstrate a genuine concern for all students
- ensure the gym is well maintained and monitor condition of equipment, in accordance with the school’s safety standards.
About You
- Current Working with Childrens Check (WWCC)
- relevant Coaching Accreditation
- suitably qualified and experienced in Strength and Conditioning training (ASCA Level 1)
- excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with students and colleagues
- personal resilience in managing multiple demands and timelines
- strong capacity to consult, collaborate and interact with a diverse group of staff, students, and parents / guardians
- highly competent in the use and application of digital technologies.
