Structural Engineer

About Us:

L&R consults to private, corporate, and government bodies in both local and interstate markets and has established an enviable reputation for quality service. An opportunity currently exists to join the Structures division within our Brisbane office. 

Reporting directly to the SEQ Design Manager and National Manager of Structures and working with an experienced team of engineers and draftspersons, you will have responsibility for the delivery of outstanding design solutions for some of our long term clients. 

Successful candidates will possess: 

• Minimum of 2-5 years industry based experience with the ability to work autonomously.
• Bachelor of Civil Engineering as a minimum.
• Ability to undertake detailed design of reinforced and prestressed concrete structures.
• Ability to undertake detailed design of structural steel and timber framed structures.
• Ability to undertake detailed design of masonry structures including retaining walls.
• Experience in the use of Inducta Concrete Design Program is essential.
• Ability to carry out site inspections as required and provide clear written inspection advice.
• Ability to converse with Clients, Builders, Architects and other Consultants.
• Be conversant with Australian Codes and Standards and have a solid understanding of industry standard software packages.
• Ability to work within a team and to develop a strong working relationship with all team members is essential for this role.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills. We require evidence of extensive report writing and investigations for the senior role.
• Ability to write concise, accurate and considered reports without supervision.
• Local experience is mandatory.
• Consultancy background is essential.
• Open Car Licence.
