The Role & Requirements:
We are seeking Civil Engineers and Draftspersons to design and support the construction of grid scale battery energy storage systems (BESS) to deliver affordable energy as we are powering towards 80% renewable energy by 2035. These projects are pushing the frontier of renewable technology here in Australia, so apply today to make your impact.
This is your opportunity to be involved in challenging projects where you will be designing the civil infrastructure required to support our networks battery energy storage systems.
Your day to day will involve conducting complex engineering studies, preparing calculations and engineering reports, providing project estimates, managing external stakeholders, tender documentation and evaluations, contract management, conducting site investigations and checking drawings.
Learn and grow in this highly collaborative yet independent role working with a variety stakeholders from a multitude of design disciplines (SCADA, Telecommunications Protection, Substations, Distribution lines etc). You will also be presented opportunities to taken ownership and lead project design teams as the design project coordinator.
In addition to your Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, you also meet the qualification requirements to become a RPEQ.
You will need to have a strong background in the Building and Construction Industry, and experience with the safe and efficient delivery of Civil and Structural works. You demonstrate in-depth experience in the design principles and practices (including Australian standards, Building By-Laws, and regulations) for the civil design.
You’ll need to be an efficient and effective communicator with a high level of organisation and administration skills. There will be times where you need to multi-task and prioritise as you handle up to 4 or 5 projects at once.
Experience in construction inspections and managing contractors is desirable but not essential.
There are opportunities across our offices in Newstead (Brisbane), Toowoomba, Rockhampton, Garbutt (Townsville) and Cairns.
With flexi-working and a 9 or 10 day fortnight in place, the bottom of the salary band from starts from $140,751 for 9 days and $159 049 for 10 days. The level of payment will be subject to an assessment of the successful applicant’s knowledge, skills and competencies that are required in this position. Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Energy Queensland Union Collective Agreement 2020.
