Your new role
Due to continued growth in their sector and recent project successes, they are expanding their Buildings Team and looking for a new Structural Engineer to join.
The duties and responsibilities of this position include:
- Contribute to the preparation of concept and schematic designs for a variety of building structures and undertaking detailed analysis and design computations during project delivery. This will involve familiarising yourself with their office practices and a range of design and construction techniques.
- Performance of detailed calculations,
- Preparation of analysis models,
- Preparation of sketch drawings and details,
- Working with other engineers and drafters within the office on the preparation of design documentation,
- Co-ordination of designs with other project team consultants,
- Participation in internal design team meetings, and at times in external meetings with the broader project team including the client and other design consultants,
- Review of design documentation,
- Visits to construction and project sites to perform site inspections and to provide observation reports and supporting engineering advice,
- Preparation of technical reports,
- Liaising with other staff members in their Brisbane office and where required their other Australian and Overseas offices,
- Project managing elements of projects, under supervision.
What you'll need to succeed
• 4 to 8 years experience as a Structural Engineer working on building projects,
• Excellent knowledge of construction methods and regulations,
• Hands-on experience with AutoCAD,
• Data-driven mindset with excellent mathematical skills,
• Good communication ability (both written and verbal),
• Attention to detail,
• Degree in Structural Engineering; a Master’s degree is a plus.
