About the role
Viterra is seeking an experienced and passionate Structural Engineer to fill this pivotal role in our maintenance and engineering department. In this role you will manage the delivery of structural engineering projects against agreed standards, timeframes and costs while providing general engineering support to the business.
Duties
- Design, scope and manage multiple captial engineering projects.
- Ensure allocated projects are delivered within approved budgets and timeframes.
- Attend sites to view and verify project progress and quality.
- Manage contractors against contract terms.
- Identify issues and potential issues and raise with Engineers and management as required.
- Manage variation requests, complete costings and approvals and update project documentation.
- Provide technical assistance to regional maintenance teams.
- Participate in the capital planning process.
- Undertake and support other team members in the development of designs and plans.
- A degree qualification in Engineering (Bachelor of Structural Engineering or similar preferred).
- Unrestricted C class driver’s license
- Member of Engineers Australia
- Chartered Engineer is preferred but not essential.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a similar role.
- Previous supervisory experience.
- Project management skills and experience.
- Experience in engineering design for industrial applications.
- Experience in managing site works and contractors.
- Experience in brownfield project and shutdown is preferred but not essential.
- Proficient in the preparation of contracts, specifications of work and contract management.
- Competent use of SpaceGass is preferable.
- Proficient in the use of the Microsoft office suite.
- Sound knowledge of commodity storage and material handling.
- Competent in coordinating and overseeing multiple projects and tasks at the one time.
- Sound knowledge of technology to support business and delivery of role.
