AddressAnchor Homes is seeking a skilled and experienced Structural Welder/Building Installer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for producing structural steel components and floors for our modular buildings, overseeing the installation of these buildings on-site, and ensuring that all modules are installed correctly and are left watertight for the incoming complexing trades. This role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with the team to meet project deadlines and maintain high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Fabrication and Welding:
- Produce structural steel components and floors for modular buildings according to specifications and drawings.
- Perform MIG welding as required, ensuring all welds meet industry standards and project requirements.
- Inspect and test welded joints to ensure they are free of defects and meet quality standards.
Modular Building Installation:
- Oversee the installation of modular buildings on-site, ensuring all modules are positioned and secured correctly.
- Coordinate with the project manager and other team members to plan and execute installation schedules.
- Ensure all structural connections are secure and comply with building codes and safety regulations.
Waterproofing and Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all installed modules are watertight and prepared for incoming complexing trades.
- Perform quality checks throughout the installation process to ensure work meets company standards and client expectations.
- Address and rectify any issues or discrepancies during the installation process promptly.
Team Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with other team members, including engineers, architects, and site supervisors, to ensure smooth workflow and project completion.
- Communicate effectively with the project manager regarding progress, issues, and any changes to the project scope or timeline.
- Provide guidance and support to less experienced team members as needed.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
- Stay informed of and comply with local, state, and federal regulations related to building installation and welding.
- Maintain and properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a structural welder and/or building installer, preferably in modular construction.
- Proficiency in MIG welding techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret Structural drawings, architectural drawings, and specifications.
- Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication and installation processes.
- Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and waterproofing techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license
Working Conditions:
- Primarily on construction sites with exposure to various weather conditions.
- Occasional travel to different job sites as required.
