About the role

As the Structures Maintainer, you are integral to the success of V/Line’s Network Development Asset and Maintenance (NDAM) Group.

The Structures Maintainer Role is required due to an internal move due to promotion.  Reporting to the Structures Ganger, Located in Victoria’s town of Geelong.  This role is an entry level which is a great first step to get into the rail industry.  Promoting a work life balance and more time with your family, you will be required to work a 4 day roster.

 Key Accountabilities include:

  • As a Structures Maintainer you will be required to complete and participate on various tasks include cleaning, corrosion treatment and prevention, maintaining, painting, mortar and masonry work, Vegetation clearing of Culverts, Bridges and other Civil structures.  An opportunity to commence your career at the entry point and whilst learning and given opportunities to progress within the team
  • You will complete all necessary reports, material returns, timesheets, requisitions and claim forms.
  • You maybe be required to work away from home in various locations around Victoria on occasion.

About you

 Working a part of an inclusive diverse established team you will have previous experience within a labouring trade environment with a willingness to learn and be a part of an organisation that supports continued learning and development.

Our ideal candidate will possess the following:

  •  Competent efficient use of hand tools,
  • Current Working at Heights, EWP and Confined Space entry, Welding or Steelwork tickets would be highly desirable.
  • A heavy rigid truck licence and or plant tickets would be desirable, but not essential.
  • A zero harm safety approach is essential.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated alignment to V/Line’s values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership and human rights.

 This position will be paid in accordance with the current V/Line Asset Management Agreement 2019 IMW (TRACK) 1.1 ($35.3902 per hour) and is a Medical Category 1.
