Your Role
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and enthusiastic persons for the position of Student Protection Officer at the Catholic Education Office, Rockhampton. This a full-time position for an immediate commencement or as negotiated with the successful applicant.
The Student Protection Officer will promote and enhance a culture of promoting child safe environments by providing leadership to Catholic schools and services in all Student Protection matters and to provide support to the Diocesan Director Catholic Education in the area of Student Protection.

About you
The successful applicant will hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work or Counselling or a related discipline plus recognised experience in the field of Child Protection and knowledge and experience in the Catholic Church’s commitment to Child Protection and Safeguarding of Children and Adults at Risk. In addition, you will have excellent time management skills, well developed interpersonal skills and a high proficiency of computer skills.
Mandatory Requirements
- A current valid Blue Card under the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 (WWC Act) and valid Suitability Notice, Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) Registration or equivalent.
- Relevant formal qualifications at degree level.
- Be an accredited member of appropriate professional association.
- Current Driver’s Licence.
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role in a safe manner.
- Competitive salary range - $115,200 to $127,368 (pending experience)
