  • X3 Full time, 12-month fixed term positions at our Hawthorn campus
  • HEW 7 salary + 17% superannuation
About the Role
The Student Engagement team at Swinburne University of Technology are looking for a Student Success Advisor to join their team!
The Student Success Advisor is responsible for assisting students in adapting to and succeeding in tertiary study. Working as part of a wider team, the successful applicant will coach, advise and monitor students to help them complete their course and pathways through to further education or employment. The position will maintain a collaborative working relationship with staff in allocated University’s Schools and liaise with other Swinburne service areas (e.g. Learning and Academic Skills and AccessAbility) to deliver tailored advice, discipline-specific workshops, and effective cross-service student referrals.

About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
  • Experience in the development, implementation and delivery of high-quality student engagement programs with demonstrated outcomes
  • Experience in advising and coaching students to achieve educational goals and success
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with people at all levels with compassion and respect
  • Demonstrated ability to foster and promote an inclusive, healthy and safe learning environment and provide support and advice to a diverse range of students
Qualifications
  • Completion of a degree qualification with at least four years subsequent experience; or extensive experience and management expertise in tertiary education; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
