About Student and Scholarly Services
Student and Scholarly Services provides student administration and services from recruitment and point of enquiry to graduation. This team also delivers wellbeing and scholarly services to students and staff.
About the Role
As the Student Support Advisor, you will work to provide a range of financial aid, and other student support services, through a combination of self-help, self-guided, and supported service formats.
Responsibilities include:
Deliver day-to-day financial aid and support services to students, within the scope of the agreed service model and with a focus on delivering the agreed outcomes for students, in a context where students may be facing considerable personal stresses and challenges
Support the ongoing development and refinement of effective administrative processes, enabling the timely and accurate payment of student grants and loans
Engage with a program of service innovation and continuous improvement of practices and processes, including the collection and compilation of student feedback and service metrics
About You
To be successful in this role, you will maintain high levels of positivity and professionalism within your team where you will continuously strive to deliver beyond expectations for the university. You will easily engage with various stakeholders by creating rapport and maintaining relationships to ensure continuous improvement and job satisfaction are achieved. You will have an advanced level of confidence and can effortlessly interact with different groups of people from all diversities when required.
You will also have:
Tertiary qualification/s in a relevant discipline or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training
Demonstrated experience in working in a student services context
High level of proficiency in the use of standard application software such as the Microsoft Office suite (particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Office Outlook, and the preparation of internal reports
A good understanding of privacy and confidentiality issues, including the application of these to record-keeping
To ensure the University continues to provide a safe environment for everyone, this position requires the incumbent to hold a current and valid Working with Children Check.
