Job description

Your role:  

Be a part of history, working with conventionally armed, nuclear-powered submarines. This game-changing capability provides superior stealth, speed and range that meet Australia’s long-term defence needs.  

As a Submarine Nuclear Electrician, you have a role in the supervision, operation, maintenance, and administration of naval nuclear propulsion plants and associated equipment. Your training will give you an understanding of reactor, electrical and mechanical theory involved in the operation of the nuclear reactor, steam plant, propulsion plant and auxiliary equipment. 

Whether you have recently finished school, currently studying, already in the workforce or you have No Experience at all, we’re hiring. You’ll be paid from day one to gain all the skills needed with extensive on-the-job training.

  • Power and distribution systems

  • Motors and controllers

Salary:  
Upon completion of your initial military and employment training, you’ll enjoy a salary package starting from $95,216.

For this role, you must be over 17 at time of enlistment, an Australian Citizen and have passed Year 10 English, Maths and Science.
