AddressYurika has several permanent opportunities for Substation Technicians to join the Field Services – Subs & Test team to be located out of Brisbane (Eagle Farm), however, other major regional locations of Cairns, Townsville, Mackay, Rockhampton, Maryborough or Toowoomba will be considered.
About your new role:
We seek highly skilled Substation Technicians to join our team at Yurika. As a Substation Technician, you’ll perform a range of specialised competencies, construct substation plant and equipment, and ensure the safe and timely completion of work activities to meet our key performance indicators.
You’ll work in a team environment, applying your technical knowledge, skills, and experience to construct substation plants and equipment on a broad range of assets and configurations.
You’ll be expected to operate independently and autonomously to ensure all work is performed to meet safety, environmental and legal responsibilities under the required scope of work and client expectations.
You’ll also be responsible for identifying and eliminating hazards and potentially dangerous situations, performing inspections and tests on plant and equipment, and providing technical guidance and instruction to others within and outside the workgroup.

Remuneration –
- From $101,800 per annum plus 12.75% Superannuation plus applicable allowances.
The level of payment will be subject to an assessment of the applicant’s knowledge, skill and competencies required for the position.

About you:
Critical to your success in this role, is your:
- Current Queensland Electrical Licensing Board Certificate of Competency as an Electrical Fitter Mechanic.
- Current ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence.
- Demonstrated knowledge of electricity systems and assets, including experience in constructing and modifying electricity assets and networks.
- Proven ability to interact with staff, contractors, and customers and make decisions outside standardised assets and processes.
- Demonstrated experience in performing HV Substation work up to 33kV.
You’ll be required to travel extensively both intrastate and nationally and work away from home based on project demand.
Additionally, you’ll be required to complete a pre-employment medical as part of the selection process.
