A rare opportunity to lead the Sunshine Coast’s most popular free daily news website that has a mission to inform, connect and celebrate one of Australia’s fastest growing communities.
We are seeking an experienced editor or senior journalist looking to move into a leadership role.
The successful candidate will be responsible for editing sunshinecoastnews.com.au, improving the skills of its small, award-winning team and ensuring all content is fair, balanced and accurate.
We are seeking an accomplished journalist, who is proficient at writing compelling stories, has excellent sub-editing and headline writing skills and knows how to grow a digital audience.
The successful candidate will be energetic, well-organised and have a proven ability to manage a team.
As editor, your primary goal is to drive engagement online and you will have a genuine desire to build relationships and become part of the community. On occasions you will be required to attend relevant functions after hours.
Reporting to the managing director.
A salary commensurate with experience will be offered to the successful candidate.
