Bechtel will be working alongside Rio Tinto conducting activities to restore the land to the status of its surrounding World Heritage listed Kakadu National Park. This collaborative project is developed in consultation with the Mirarr Traditional Owners and will benefit the Jabiru community, and surrounding lands.Job Summary:As Superintendent General Services, you will monitor and organize subcontractor planning, safety, quality, and technical activities on a complex project with multiple stakeholders' involvement, through the coordination and instruction of subcontractor's management staff. Your field supervision will help ensure operations are planned to coincide with overall established schedules and that work methods are planned and executed safely. This is a FIFO role working 2:1 roster, based in Jabiru, NT. #LI-RH1Major Responsibilities:
- Monitors and directs subcontractor activities, through coordination and instruction of subcontractors' management staff within the area of responsibility.
- Role supports on large projects of high complexity with multiple stakeholders' involvement.
- Reviews and monitors subcontractor construction schedules, resource charts, and material and equipment requirements.
- Reviews and approves where necessary, subcontractor construction methods, schedules, manning charts, and material and equipment requirements.
- Monitors installation of materials and equipment to assure conformance with drawings, specifications, vendor, and other requirements.
- Implements and enforces policies, procedures and related work rules as established by field construction management.
- Works with Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents.
- Coordinates engineering solutions with Subcontractors, and Foremen and Craft Professionals.
- Other responsibilities as designated.
- Requires Bachelor's Degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience.
- Knowledge of EPCM contract Management, and the Contractor(s) and their subcontractor's (if applicable) responsibilities.
- Extensive knowledge of Bulk Earthworks, Construction, Deconstruction and associated site services and requirements.
- Knowledge of supervisory functions relating to field activities.
- Familiarity with current industry quality standards.
- Extensive experience in civil construction of large projects.
