Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead our inventory, planning, and Systems optimization efforts at the Porgera Operations. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing stock levels, executing demand planning, overseeing the MRP process, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to achieve operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize stock levels across Mine procured items through interaction with end users and utilizing data analysis tools such as IBM (Oniqua).
- Ensure demand plan stock cover is maintained and manage non-demand plan items stock outs and stock turns within KPIs.
- Interpret technical data from end users and effectively communicate this to supply partners.
- Run demand planning for all bulk consumable items, ensuring effective execution of demand planning meetings with end users, and updating demand plans with accurate stock levels and purchase order information.
- Ensure efficient execution of the MRP process and conduct thorough reviews prior to order placement.
- Periodically review and proactively manage inventory master data, engaging with end users regularly to confirm and update master data.
- Oversee and manage half-yearly and annual stock counts, ensuring accurate and comprehensive stock status and master data quality reports.
- Assist in the transition to SAP, ensuring correct master data migration and managing item creations according to taxonomy policy.
- Drive continuous improvement and reduction of non-conformances and discrepancies associated with purchase orders.
- Deliver weekly/monthly KPI metrics on performance and continuously improve metrics.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Effectively manage the inventory team across all inventory types to ensure availability and reduce stockouts.
- Understand demand drivers for different inventory types and possess advanced analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools such as IBM (Oniqua).
- Have at least 5 years of experience in a similar role within the mining industry.
- Experience with mining ERP systems, preferably SAP, and familiarity with Oracle is a plus.
- Comfortable engaging regularly with end users to update demand plans and associated master data.
- Proficient in producing relevant reports to track KPIs and drive departmental improvement.
- Disciplined in adherence to company policies, corporate governance, and controls.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders.
