About our company:

Kestrel is one of the world's largest producing underground coking, or metallurgical coal mines and produces around 7 million tonnes of metallurgical coal annually. Our coal is shipped to key markets in Asia and Europe to be used in the steel making process. The mine is located in the Bowen Basin, approximately 40km Northeast of Emerald in Central QLD. Our team's capability covers the entire mining process, from development to extraction and processing, environmental management and sustainable rehabilitation. We have an approved life of mine until 2033 and reserves to 2046 with the potential to increase further.

About the opportunity:

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Warehouse Superintendent to join our site-based team. This residential role offers a Monday to Friday or 9-day fortnight roster. Reporting directly to the Manager of Commercial & Services, you will be responsible for overseeing a portfolio of logistics and warehousing operations. Your role will ensure the safe and timely availability of parts, preventing production delays, and optimizing working capital. You will also manage the flow of materials to and from the site in a timely and cost-effective manner.

In this role, you will support Kestrel by:

  • Develop and maintain a best-in-class safety culture for physical inventory and freight movements.
  • Lead and develop the execution team to deliver efficient, high-quality results.
  • Foster a positive culture within the team and with stakeholders through clear and positive communication.
  • Ensure safety standards are consistently upheld in warehousing operations.
  • Report on financials, service levels, and accuracy of inventory.
  • Apply, monitor, and report on inventory compliance systems.
  • Optimize the functionality of the SAP MRP system.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor inventory systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Oversee the stocktake process for physical inventory.
  • Monitor and control stock levels to meet specified outcomes.
  • Manage and maintain assets and inventory records.

About you:

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to foster positive working relationships at all levels.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Tertiary qualifications in supply chain management or logistics, or similar or a significant combination of other training and experience.
  • A sound knowledge of Material Requirements for Planning, Enterprise Resource Planning systems, particularly SAP.
