Job description

This is a recruitment pool for permanent full time, permanent part time, fixed term full time, fixed term part time (with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency) and casual appointments.
We have a permanent full-time appointment available to be filled from May 2024.
Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur. Appointments may be made from this pool until 07/02/2025.
In late 2020 the WA Government announced that full operation of the Peel Health Campus (PHC) would transfer to South Metropolitan Health Service (SMHS) on the completion of the current contract with existing private operator Ramsay Health Care (RHC). Peel Health Campus (PHC) is a general hospital located in the City of Mandurah, 75 km south of Perth on the doorstep of the south-west, known for its stunning beaches, internationally significant wetlands, and some of Australia’s most spectacular waterways for boating, fishing and wildlife. It originally opened in 1988 as the 32-bed Mandurah District Hospital, and now operates with 206 licenced beds, bays and treatment areas. Transitioning the hospital to public hands paves the way for the hospital’s redevelopment and service transformation to meet the needs of the Peel-Murray region.
The Supervising Pharmacy Technician will coordinate the delivery of medication procurement, distribution and inventory management services by pharmacy technical staff in accordance with the state tender, local and WA Government Procurement Policies and Guidelines. The position will have a thorough understanding of various pharmacy services delivered and will ensure that there is a seamless integration between those services, including dispensary services, that relate to technical staff. This position also participates in and provides direct supervision, training, credentialing, competency development and rostering of all technical staff within Pharmacy.

  • The main focus of this role will be to prepare and facilitate the transition of Peel Health Campus from Ramsay Health Care to WA Health.
  • This role will be based across both office locations – Myaree and Mandurah until August 2024, then primarily at PHC after August 2024.
  • Following transition of PHC to SMHS, this role will become an operational role within the Pharmacy department at the hospital.
