Responsibilities and Key deliverables:
- Understand and know how to read Dial before you Dig plans
- Ensure all subcontractors/workers are undertaking their works in accordance with the Excavation Permit/Start Card/Risk Assessments
- Understand the program for the work activities you are supervising and communicate the progress of the works with the relevant person (Engineer/Project co-ordinator/Area Supervisor/ Superintendent on a daily basis or as otherwise specified
- Problem solve construction related issues and work with the subcontractor, superintendent and engineers to identify and agree solutions
- Plan the construction activities in an efficient and logical sequence using the most cost-effective methodologies
- Communicate the construction plan and daily activities with subcontractors and drive the delivery to plan
- Manage and deliver works on budget and within the contracted or agreed time frame.
- Monitor costs to identify exceptions to project targets.
- Escalate and address all resource requirements and shortages with the Area Supervisor/Superintendent
- Liaise with Site Engineers to ensure materials and equipment are readily available ahead of construction activities and escalate any critical stock deficiencies to the Area Supervisor/Superintendent in a timely manner.
- Monitor safety and stop / escalate any unsafe work activities
Requirements
- Experience with NBN/TELCO
- NBN Enable tickets favourable.
- Drivers Licence
- Relevant Trade or Engineering qualifications or equivalent in civil construction
- Demonstrated effective people management skills and techniques.
- At least 3 years’ experience in Supervisory role or equivalent.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, implement, monitor and report on capital projects across multiple sites
- Able to read & interpret plans
- Demonstrated ability to manage budget and administration for the works
- Demonstrated ability to work with multiple stake holders to successfully deliver projects/ works programs.
- This role requires all successful candidates to have valid police checks & medical
