Work Location: Eliwana - Fortescue's Eliwana mine is located on the traditional lands of the Puutu Kunti Kurrama people.
Roster: 8D6R ex Perth or Busselton
Reporting to our OPF Mechanical Maintenance Superintendent, the Fixed Plant Conveyor Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the repair, maintenance and improvement of all conveyor systems and equipment to safely deliver world class availability and reliability. This includes managing plant maintenance functions in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner, enabling the Fixed Plant Operations to meet the present and future needs of operational requirements; and managing the plant maintenance activities with a continuous improvement and reliability philosophy.
A requirement to provide nightshift coverage during shut down periods may be required every 13 weeks.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide visible positive leadership to a diverse team of trades personnel by demonstrating safe behaviours at all times and displaying the Fortescue values, whilst managing the effective utilisation of the conveyor systems and equipment
  • Hold statutory appointment as a Mechanical or Conveyor Supervisor
  • Daily work allocation to the Conveyor Maintenance team, prioritizing the work based on adherence to the weekly schedule and unplanned work that is required to be completed due to operational requirements
  • Scoping of work required for upcoming weekly plans including estimation of resource requirements, consulting with suppliers and OEMs for ordering of all the necessary parts and materials etc.
  • Ensuring that all Conveyor Maintenance activities are undertaken in a safe and coordinated manner, in compliance with site standards and procedures and the relevant Australian Standards and WA Mines Safety and Inspection Regulations, making sure that all work is conducted to a high standard.
  • Encourage compliance to Zero Harm principles daily within the team
Qualifications and Experience
  • Mechanical Trade qualification essential with a Level 2 or 3 Belt Splicing highly desirable
  • Proven experience in a leadership role working within a Fixed Plant continuous processing plant
  • Strong leadership experience with the ability to engage and empower large teams alongside a proven commitment to safety
  • Strong understanding of both production and maintenance strategies for large-scale, continuous processing plants.
  • Proven commitment to safety and zero harm with the ability to undertake quality risk assessments.
  • Ability to work with others to achieve objectives, team oriented
