Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Supervisor Works to join our team on a 6-month contract basis starting in April. The successful candidate will oversee construction and maintenance projects, ensuring they are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities:
· Read and interpret construction plans, transposing levels accurately.
· Prioritise tasks and manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.
· Make decisive decisions based on judgment and theoretical knowledge.
· Ensure a safe working environment in compliance with industry standards.
· Motivate teams to work effectively through trust, enthusiasm, and involvement.
· Manage project finances effectively.
· Identify areas for improvement and facilitate change.
· Prepare reports, business letters, and related correspondence.
· Handle negotiation, mediation, and conflict resolution effectively.
Skills and Abilities:
Essential:
· Highly developed ability to read construction plans and transpose levels.

· Knowledge of safety practices in road construction and general operational works.
· Detailed knowledge of road and drainage construction and maintenance practices.
· Familiarity with relevant software packages, including Microsoft Office Suite.
· Understanding of Shire and community dynamics.
· Experience with Authority financial accounting systems and project management in civil engineering.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years' experience in road and drainage construction and maintenance, including supervisory roles.
Training/Qualifications:
· Construction safety awareness card.
· Basic worksite traffic management.
· Workplace First Aid Certificate.
· Certificate in Supervisory qualifications or equivalent.
