Your new role:
The Supplier Quality & Readiness role has the opportunity to work with local Australian suppliers to supply components, assemblies and sub-assemblies into our new Hanwha Armoured Centre of Excellence (H-ACE) facility in Avalon. The role will involve all aspects of Supplier Quality work and will engage cross functionally with internal stakeholders and will be involved in process mapping and procedure development.
This position is based in the Melbourne CBD office with the expectation to support any Quality issues at the facility in Avalon, Victoria.
Your primary areas of responsibilities:
- Work with the relevant departments (Procurement, Industry Development, Operations, Supply chain, etc..) in the down selection of potential new suppliers
- Review questionnaire and audit responses to ensure suppliers are technical and commercially capable
- Liaise with the Korean Quality team (both local and overseas) on the technical transfer of critical information where suppliers are making to print
- Perform gap analysis and develop countermeasure plans to bring suppliers up the required level
- Audit of manufacturing assembly processes (including welding and fabrication processes)
- Assess end of line quality controls and processes
- Work as a conduit for escalation back into the Production Operations leadership team for any deviations to agreed plans that have adverse impact on cost, quality or timing
- Develop strong relationship with key personnel including senior leadership within the supply base
- Management of quality performance of suppliers
- Create reports that reflect supplier performance on a frequency basis
- Identify risks in the supplier’s supply chain
- Establish routine frequency-based meetings and agendas that provide a consistent theme across all suppliers
- Monitor suppliers project plans and ensure all critical milestones support Hanwha project milestones
- Work with Procurement and Supply chain as the onsite technical liaison for expediting regardless of where fault lies.
- Other duties as required by the Facility Director or Production Operation Manager
- Be prepared to travel locally, interstate and overseas as required
About you
As an ideal candidate you will have:
- Degree qualification in relevant field, preferred and/or Associate or Diploma in relevant field with demonstrated experience.
- Demonstrates product quality assurance skills
- Knowledge of PPAP and APQP desirable
- Demonstrates general manufacturing understanding in machining and assembly
- Proven ability to effectively manage relationships and positively resolve disputes with internal/external stakeholders.
- Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Office skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Organised and ability to meet deadlines
