About the Role:
As a Specialist Support Coordinator (SSC) at McArthur, you will play a pivotal role in assisting NDIS participants with complex needs to build personal capacity in decision-making and implementation of supports outlined in their NDIS plans. This role focuses on promoting connections with NDIS and other supports, negotiating solutions with stakeholders, and enhancing participants' resilience and capacity.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Evaluating the NDIS plans of participants to guarantee the proper implementation of supports and services.
- Developing the skills and capabilities of participants facing intricate obstacles to reach their intended objectives.
- Organising assistance and collaborating closely with NDIA planners, as well as allied health and community services.
- Strengthening participants' ability to manage their own supports by providing information, referrals, and facilitating connections with personal support networks and community resources.
- Addressing participant inquiries promptly.
- Compiling and presenting necessary reports for NDIS meetings or service providers as needed.
To Be Successful in This Role, You Will Have:
- Relevant Industry experience in Support Coordinator or Specialist Support Coordinator;
- A relevant tertiary qualification is highly desirable such as Occupational Therapy, Social Work or Developmental Educator or any relevant experience, degrees, and qualifications.
- Current DHS Disability Clearance
- Clear communication and listening skills
- A person-centred proactive approach
- Must have proven problem-solving skills
