Job Summary:
We are seeking a Support Pathways Mentor to join our team in Kununurra, Western Australia. The primary purpose of the Support Pathways Mentor is to develop and progress relations with members of informal support networks to facilitate the progression of informal to formal supports for People with Disabilities (PWDs) and aged care clients.
This position forms part of the National Disabilities Services (NDS) Workforce Development Program which enables Wayfinder to provide strategic support to individuals who are looking to engaged in employment through the Disability Services Industry.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the program strategy;
- Working proactively with key stakeholders understand the challenges employers have in filling disability support roles, including in remote Aboriginal Communities;
- Successfully identifying and engaging individuals in communities who may be unaware of disability service employment opportunities;
- Develop effective relationships with local disability service providers and other stakeholders including remote ACCOs who may be capable of administering localised care services;
- Provide relevant reporting and evaluation on progress and outcomes.
Mandatory Experience/Licences:
- Demonstrated understanding of disability service delivery and experience in facilitating employee development.
- High level leadership and mentoring skills that support staff to maintain a culture that fosters a pathway of learning and curiosity.
- Strategic and creative thinking capability, with ability to develop new strategies and solutions to program concerns and the managing of external relationships where required.
- Maintain a high level of operational compliance in line with internal policy, practice standards, contractual obligations, and legislation.
- Sound written and verbal communication, including the ability to represent the organisation at meetings, events, and functions; and to prepare reports, grant applications, and other correspondence. Internally, the ability to communicate effectively across multiple levels of the organisation is critical.

- Current Western Australian NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current WA Working with children check
Preferred Qualifications:
- Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Social Sciences, Welfare, Community Health, Allied Health, or similar discipline.
- Knowledge of NDIS practice standards and experience in NDIS program/service delivery.
