About the role - We are seeking an experienced Support Teacher Inclusive Education for a full-time position commencing Term 3 to cover a period of maternity leave. In collaboration with parents and teachers, you will support students across the full range of abilities and needs, to meet specific learning needs. You will implement inclusive and effective teaching and learning strategies to engage and improve education outcomes of supported students.
As a dynamic and innovative member of our school community, you will:
- Create a nurturing and ordered learning environment which is learner-centred, safe, supportive, co-operative and aligned with relevant curriculum, policies and practices
- Collaborate with your peers to develop and implement quality curriculum programs and appropriate pedagogy
- Assess, provide feedback and report on student learning
- Work with the school leadership team and colleagues to contribute to the professional life of the school
- Proactively engage with professional learning to enhance student learning outcomes
- Ensure that the teachings and values of the Catholic Church form a foundation for learning and teaching.
About you - To be successful in this role you will bring relevant qualifications and contemporary teaching experience as well as:
- A strong knowledge of Inclusive Education practices, especially for students with disabilities, and have a clear understanding of the Australian Curriculum,
- Effective communication, administrative and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in implementing personalised learning plans (PLP) and Individual Curriculum Plans (ICPs),
- An understanding of the NCCD processes,
- Involvement with Strategies and practices which influence student progress and achievement,
- An ability to oversee and deliver a range of mapping and planning functions to support Inclusive Education practices,
- An ability to attend to innovative and creative teaching practices,
- A proven capacity to work as part of a team, and
- A willingness to share knowledge and skills through professional development, consultation and advice.
