About the role:
Are you a pre-service teacher looking to kick start your career in the education sector? Join our team as a Teacher's Assistant to work in and around the south east. We have schools in Cranbourne, Mornington and Mount Evelyn searching for casual teacher assistants. We will match your skills, preferences, and availability to the schools we work with to ensure you enjoy the shifts we offer you.
Key duties:
· Assist teachers in providing a safe and stimulating learning environment
· Ensure a continuation of learning for students in the absence of their usual Education Support.
· Develop a stimulating learning environment by using a variety of styles and approaches to cater for individual learning needs.
Skills & Experience:
· Pre-service teacher due to complete teaching degree in the next 6 months. Must have had some placement experience.
· Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (must be mentor teachers, supervising teachers and/or placement coordinator from University)
· Ability to work with students with a range of support needs.
· You MUST be willing to work within Special Development schools.
· You MUST be willing to support students with meals and toileting needs. You will always have someone with you, however it may be necessary for you to help with these requirements at times.
Desired Skills & Experience:
· Adaptable to changing work environments.
· Experience working with Children with special needs.
