Job description

About the role 

The successful applicant will have experience in the medical secretarial field. A commitment to our patients, a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills and a professional phone manner are essential. The experienced applicant will be well versed in the demands (and rewards) of this position.

The position is part time, 2 days a week with the additional flexibility to cover for sick leave and annual leave when required.

Skills and experience

  • Previous experience as a medical receptionist in a specialist practice 
  • Excellent communication skills and professional phone manner
  • Computer literacy and previous experience with medical software (current software Genie)
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Caring, discreet and sensitive in nature

Duties will include 

  • Triage of patients bookings and referrals
  • Reception duties
  • Billing, receipting and banking
  • Theatre booking and scheduling
  • Medical typing and terminology
  • Working independently, alongside other staff members
  • Office management and administrative duties
  • Preparation and assist with patient clinical tests and procedures
