Byron Shire Respite Service is recruiting qualified Support Workers that can relate directly relate to our Mission and Values.
Both Permanent Part-Time and Casual roles available.

Byron Shire Respite Service is a non-for-profit community based organisation founded over 30 years ago on the principle of holistic person-centred care. We acknowledge and incorporate personal history, diverse needs and the person’s family to meet the needs and goals of the client and their family/carer to provide the best care possible and enable our clients to maintain their lifestyle and remain in their homes.

Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services (SCHADS) based on qualifications and experience.
Essential Criteria:
- Certificate III in Individualised Care or equivalent
- Warm and positive attitude
- Experience in providing personal care, showering, dressing and grooming for older people or people living with a disability
- Right to Work in Australia
- NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain
- Current First Aid & CPR Certificate or willingness to obtain
- Immunisations or vaccinations if required
- Current Drivers Licence and use of reliable and insured vehicle
- Smart phone and confidence to use.
Desirable Criteria
- Knowledge of the complex needs and varying experiences of people living with Dementia and their Carers.
- Experience working with older people or people living with a disability in a community setting.

This role involves supporting clients to engage in community access and activities and includes, but not limited to:
- Promoting meaningful relationships
- Supporting clients to live independently and to access their community with transport to appointments, shopping and social interaction
- Engaging clients in activities at our day programs in Brunswick Heads and Lennox Head
- Working in a rewarding role
- Opportunity to transition to a Permanent Parttime role in the future.
