About the Role
Expressions of interest for Casual Disability Support Worker in the Southern Suburbs and Logan areas. As a casual Disability Support Worker, you will be providing person centered active support to people living with disabilities. Support required depends on the participants needs, however experience with personal care and community access will be highly regarded. You will need to be flexible to take on shifts from Monday to Sunday
You will be part of a dynamic team that delivers genuine support in all domains of life, to enable access to quality of life with dignity, respect, and social inclusion.
Main responsibilities include
- Personal care: grooming, dressing, toileting, and showering
- Domestic duties including meal preparation, shopping, housekeeping, and cleaning
- Assists participants with medications
- High intensity support activities
- Behaviour support
- Provide community inclusion and support participants to develop relationships and interests through access to community activities and services.
About You
You are reliable with a good work ethic. You pride yourself on providing personal care with dignity and respect. You understand the importance of providing individualised support in a home environment and out in the community. You have experience in supporting people living with disabilities, aged care and SIL apartment
Your skills and experience include:
- Prior experience supporting clients with disabilities highly desirable
- Relevant nationally recognised qualification highly desirable
- Must have a QLD driver's licence and own reliable transport
- Current Paid employee Blue Card (or willing to obtain before employment)
- Current Paid employee Yellow Card/NDIS Worker Clearance (or willing to obtain before employment)
- Current First Aid & CPR (or willing to obtain before employment)
- NDIS 'Worker Orientation' module (or willing to obtain before employment)
- Full Australian working rights
- Smart phone with internet access
- Two current (within the past 2 years) professional references from a supervisor will be required
