We are excitedly recruiting for a young participant who is in our care. Ipswich Nurses is inviting bubbly health sciences students in:
-nursing,
-physiotherapy
-paramedicine
-occupational therapy
to take up this exciting opportunity to learn a variety of complex skills
Qualifications & experience
- The ideal candidate would have completed their first year of University and preferably completed their first placement.
- Experience with working with children is preferrable but most importantly is a passion to work and interact with children.
- Experience in suctioning, PEG feeding, seizure management would be amazing, however we can train you.
- Knowing how to treat a child like a child. (THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT)
- Proof of covid and most recent influenza vaccination (this is a request by the parents)
- Females only as per parents requests
Tasks & responsibilities
- Shifts times can be either long (8hrs +) or short (2hrs) We have morning shifts (starting at 6am), afternoons and active overnights.
- Looking after a young person providing all care including bathing, feeding and organising activities.
- Respiratory monitoring
- Nutrition via PEG
- Seizure management
- Training provided.
- Payrates are based on the SCHADS Award Social- Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award [MA000100]
