About Your Role
The position of Surveillance Officer - Infectious Disease (located within Public Health) has a District role and is responsible and accountable for the surveillance and response to notifications of outbreaks of Infectious Disease.
This accountability specifically includes:
- Management of Infectious Disease notifications and associated databases as well as other specialised surveillance systems,
- Response to notifications or outbreaks of Infectious Disease,
- Analysis and interpretation of Infectious Disease data and information,
- Provision of technical and professional advice to health care workers and members of the public
- Response as appropriate to non-Infectious Disease notifications and clusters, made to the Public Health Unit
- Participation in Public Health emergency responses as required and directed
This is a Site Negotiable role across Murrumbidgee LHD/Southern NSW LHD sites.
