Address An opportunity exists for a professional and highly motivated person to fill the very important role of Survey & Design Engineer at Council.
The primary purpose of the position is to:
Coordinate all survey and design works for the construction and maintenance of Roads, Drainage and Roadside furnishings, in both rural and urban environments, and to assist in the investigation of all queries regarding these matters.
Qualifications and Experience
The successful applicant will possess a well-developed problem-solving ability and demonstrate their excellent interpersonal skills with the general public and fellow employees.
A Degree in Surveying or Civil Engineering (or equivalent) and/or minimum of four (4) years relevant experience in Local Government is essential.
They must possess a high level of computer literacy in the use of a variety of software applications including MS Office Suite, AutoCAD, GIS (QGIS preferred), flood modelling software, web-based products and information management systems.
Salary and Conditions
A salary of $78,787.80 - $98,415.72 pa plus 11.5% superannuation (effective 1st July) and applicable allowances will be offered (depending on qualifications and experience).
This permanent position is 35 hours per week with a monthly rostered day off.
Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award.
Prior to commencement, the successful applicant will be required to undergo a Pre Employment Functional Assessment which includes an Alcohol and Other Drug Screening.
