About the role
Metro Mining is looking for an experienced Surveyor to join the project, to provide accurate and timely survey control and support to mine operation and projects, ensuring compliance to the site Health & Safety Management System and relevant statutory legislation. With plenty of time working on remote sites you enjoy the challenges and the variety.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing reliable survey control to the mining operation
- Survey data & mine plan compilation
- Providing support to mine planners and operations through pit design set outs, topographic surveys, data reduction, accurate volume calculation and reporting all to enable the achievement of organisational goals
- Producing accurate survey data in accordance with statutory and company standards
- Conducting engineering surveys for mine infrastructure as well as end of month volumetric calculations
- Conducting drone surveys
- Focusing on health and safety while maintaining an environmental consideration
- Updating mine models, mining plans, and statutory plans
- Maintaining high levels of communication between departments
- Promoting a safe, healthy, cooperative, and productive work environment
- Other tasks as directed.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in surveying, spatial science, geospatial science or geographical information systems
- Qualification and experience in UAV operations
- RePL Qualification
- First aid certificate
- Current C Class open driving license
- 5 years previous experience in a similar role/industry
- Experience with Trimble GPS & Total Stations and I-Site Scanners
- Strong knowledge of surveying principles
- Sound computer skills in Surpac and Microsoft Office
- Strong reporting skills
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Organised and able to meet deadlines.
