Events and Administration Officer

Full-Time, 6 Month Fixed Term Contract

Total Package $70,621.20 per annum, pro-rata (inclusive of superannuation)

WALGA is searching for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Events and Administration Officer to join the marketing team on an initial 6-month contract, with the potential to transition into a permanent position.

You’ll have the opportunity to work alongside our Senior Events Advisor and play a key role in helping to orchestrate our prestigious annual Local Government Convention, along with a range of other exciting WALGA events throughout the year.

What does a typical week look like?

With your strong background in administration, you’ll be providing comprehensive administration support to the Events and marketing team, particularly around our flagship convention, which is coming up very shortly!

This will include coordination of event logistics, on-site support to members, addressing queries, providing administration support to the Senior Events Advisor, and ensuring a positive convention experience for our members.

It is an event which sees the whole of WALGA get involved some way or another so you will meet a wide range of stakeholders, internal and external.

You have excellent written and verbal communications skills, are a naturally organised and detail orientated individual and have experience in administrative support or events/corporate hospitality.

As a team player with a collaborative spirit, you thrive in group settings. Your proficiency in using new software like event registration or ticketing systems will benefit you in this position in addition to being competent in PC applications such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

This may be a 6-month fixed term contract, but we believe it can be a great opportunity to gain invaluable experience not only in events or administration, but also the Local Government sector.
